Step into Summers with Style

I know it’s a bit too early to talk about summers but with all famous design houses launching their Spring/Summer 2015 collections one after another, it's hard to resist yourself to house your favourite picks in your closets as soon as they are launched. This situation gets slightly tricky for many fashion lovers, like myself, who have to start saving their pennies several months before the launch of their latest fashion indulges. So, here's a quick heads-up for all the shoe lovers out there who have been looking forward to the SS15 trend alert.

In this list, Miu Miu’s sexy leather mules have taken the lead. As revealed in the brand’s SS15 runway show, these ‘not-so-boring-anymore’ mules are very classy, edgy and, for a change, very lady-like! I just can’t help but drool over these white bow mules. Perfectly trendy to pair with your favourite summer maxi dresses or even your casual denims.

Second on the list is Jimmy Choo’s Visby from the brand’s Resort 2015 collection. These seductive black asymmetrical strappy sandals in suede with mesh detailing would be perfect for a romantic dinner date with your favourite Little Black Dress. The Visby is also available in metallic gold which is equally amorous.

Following the recent popularity of the thigh-high boots, Givenchy’s SS15 collection by Ricardo Tisci presented this boot-sandal hybrid in thigh-high length. Promoting the ‘Rock Spring Girl’ look, these leather boot/sandals come in a peep toe style as well as a laced-front style. Personally, I love this fierce pair of hybrids due to its exceptional leather and lace detailing and for the sheer element of newness.

Next on the list are the knee-high zip-up gladiator flat sandals by Valentino. Perfect for long walks on your summer vacations and ideal to pair with a white summer dress. The label’s SS15 runway shows these gorgeous flats in black and tan. My favourite is the tan with gold hardware as it has an effortless bohemian edge to it.

The ‘Boulevard Chanel’ SS15 collection featured some hefty printed shoes as well as lots of golds. The style which stood out for me was the ankle strap loafer sandals. The best thing about these shoes is that they could be used as, both, casually (for a stroll around the city) as well as formally (pair it up with a tux for a red carpet event). From sophisticated monochrome to punk florals, this collection has a variety of moccasins for everyone.

If you love block heels then Saint Laurent will perhaps be your favourite brand this summer. In the SS15 collection Saint Laurent seems to have experimented with a lot of texture and styles. Heavy usage of bold colours ranging from red to silver can also be seen. However, there’s nothing that we haven’t ever seen before and also the cheap denier tights with sandals is such a big put off for me!!!

Stella McCartney’s SS15 collection had quite a few casual surprises. Her clothes and accessories could sometimes be very simple and ordinary; however, one item just screams ‘newness’ in this collection. Apart from giving you the seventies vibe, these strappy and super-comfy looking wedges could possibly be the next ‘IN’ thing!

The next delight was debuted on Chloe’s SS15 runway. Due to its simplicity and comfortable design, these slightly wedged gladiator sandals are surely a must-have for the next season. The style comes in a knee-high length as well as calf-length gladiator wedges.

Besides every celebrity drooling over his creations, the SS15 collection gives us even more reasons to fall in love with the work of Nicholas Kirkwood. Famous for his well crafted sculptural heels, the designer keeps surprising us with refreshing statement shoes.  The new collection presents some of the finest details seen in booties, loafers as well as heels. My favourite is this stencil lace-up flat sandal which would be available in black suede laser cut body as well.

Fringe has been one of the highlights in the fashion world this year. Therefore, many designers have carried this style forward to their upcoming collections as well. Personally, I have never been a great fan of fringe styled shoes. No offence to the fringe or animal lovers, but it almost seems like you’re dragging a dead bird with your shoes whilst you’re walking.  Anyways, if you by any chance, are a fringe fan then the SS15 collection by MSGM would surely be of your interest.

For more of the bohemian-look lovers Aquazzura SS15 collection has tonnes of designs to offer you. This black and gold strappy sandal is one of my most favourites by the designer as it has fabulous mirror crafting done on suede. The red and silver piece is equally gorgeous!

Shoes are definitely the most important aspect of dressing up (pleasure or pain is a secondary issue!). Unlike the last couple of years, famous design houses have shifted their focal point to innovation and invested great effort to create statement shoes for their Spring/Summer 2015 collections. With suede being the most favourite texture, knee-highs the ubiquitous length, and laced-up the hottest look; this summer season is nothing less than pure chic. Not to forget that the wedged-gladiator sandals are definitely the next style statement.

Lastly, it would almost be incomplete without the honourable mentions of DSquared2’s caged knee-high sandals, gold-metallic strappy ‘flatforms’ by Just Cavalli, furry fringe pumps by Rocha, and No.21’s satin mules. So get saving my lovely fashionistas as the summers of 2015 are all about owning a pair of these heavenly shoes.
