RoundUp #BecauseWeLoveCannes

The 68th Cannes Film Festival is approaching its climax and yet again it was all about Fashion rather than Films (the sole purpose of the festival!?!?). Style gurus say that if you’ve made it to the Cannes Red Carpet then you’ve definitely made a mark in the fashion world. So without further delay and in no specific order, here’s a quick round up of all the celebs that’ve made me go WOWZA!

Naomi Watts in Elie Saab’s SS15 Couture collection: It was great to see Watts in her true element whilst she glided across the red carpet at the opening ceremony of CFF in the ostrich-feather gown. Many celebs opted for the feather factor for their red carpet looks but this one stands out most.

Naomi Watts in Altuzarra Fall 2015 dress: They say too many ingredients may spoil the recipe but this dress is nothing less than alluring. It’s sheer, ruffled, beaded, and has its periodic elements along with a sexy thigh high slit. The only thing that refrains this look from being perfect is Naomi’s poor selection of heels.

Charlize Theron in Dior couture: With her bold colour choice and statement train, the South African beauty brought the essence of spring to the red carpet.

Emma Stone in Oscar de la Renta’s Pre-fall 15 frock: This lace cocktail dress with organza ruffles is elegant yet fun at the same time. Emma Stone does complete justice to the look by keeping it simple and pairing it with the Pigalle Follies by Christian Louboutin only.

Emma Stone in Christian Dior: With the absolute elegance of this look, Emma sets an example that you don’t always have to be covered in sparkling jewels from head to toe or fluffed-up in layers of cloth around you because sometimes simplicity outweighs everything. This pale blue open-back lace gown adds nothing but grace to the red carpet.

Sonam Kapoor in Ralph & Russo SS14 couture gown: It takes a daring girl like Sonam too pull off such a theatrical gown in an equally dramatic shade of blue. Paired with Giuseppe Zanotti sandals and fabulous Chopard earings, Sonam’s first day at the Cannes was extremely stylish.

Fan Bingbing in Ralph & Russo couture gown: With this custom made gown, Fan reassured us that it’s summertime. The subtle contrast in colours to the botanical print, everything about this look screams summers.

Sonam Kapoor in Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla: This ‘butterfly’ dress might not be very easy to digest for many fashion lovers but you’ve got to admire the brilliant art of layering on the shoulders. Plus, Sonam’s smoky eyes add a bit more drama to the look.

Izabel Goulart in Zuhair Murad SS15 couture collection: Nothing is OTT when it comes to the Chopard party at the Cannes and Izabel’s embellished sheer gown was just perfect!

Aishwarya Rai in a bourdeaux Oscar de la Renta Fall 2015 gown: A bit too fashionable for just a photocall, but OMG isn’t she a stunner?

Petra Nemcova in Zuhair Murad Couture: This is one of the very few season-appropriate gowns we saw on the red carpet. What’s your say?

Emily Blunt in a Stella McCartney gown: Despite all the criticisms the Brits have to face for their effortless dressing sense, Stella McCartney’s surely can nail it when it comes to a stunning gown.

Nievez Alvarez in an ombre gown from Elie Saab’s Fall 2014 couture collection with a nude Christian Louboutin studded clutch: I love the dress but can someone please recommend this Spanish beauty a decent hairstylist?

Petra Nemcova in a gorgeous ensemble by Zuhair Murad: From the classic trailing silk and chiffon skirt to the contemporary silk crepe peplum sequined jacket, this look is ultra-edgy. She completed her look with blue metallic heels by Giuseppe Zanotti and a Chopard necklace. I think a delicate neck piece and silver metallic heels would’ve been ideal with the look. What do you think?

Aishwarya Rai in an architectural gown from Ralph & Russo’s Fall 2014 couture collection: Although the whole outfit is very dramatic but a slight darker lip colour (ideally Oxblood!) would’ve made this look perfect.
